United States President George W. Bush is expected to meet with his outgoing Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and President-elect Dmitry Medvedev in Russia's Black Sea resort Sochi over the weekend, a senior Kremlin official said on Wednesday.
"A meeting between Putin and Bush is scheduled for Sunday. Bush will then meet with Medvedev," said Russian presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, U.S. National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley and U.S. Ambassador to Russia William Burns will also take part in the talks, Interfax news agency reported.
A framework agreement on Russia-U.S. relations is expected to be inked during the farewell and greeting meetings.
Washington's plans to deploy missile defense components in Central Europe are also expected to top the schedule. Several rounds of bilateral talks have failed to settle Moscow's concern and objection to the projects.
Putin is to leave office on May 7 when Medvedev's inauguration will take place. Medvedev, a close ally of Putin, has pledged to continue Putin's set policies.
