Finland will join the NATO crisis management exercise on April 16-22, said the Finnish Foreign Ministry in a press release on Wednesday.

The exercise, CMX08, is designed to practice crisis management procedures, including planning and consultations between NATO and its partner nations as well as cooperation on a national level, said it.

The exercise will cover only the early stages of planning and no real-life forces will be deployed.

Finland is not a NATO member, but a member of NATO's partnership for peace scheme.
