Polish and Ukrainian Defense Ministers, Bogdan Klich and Yury Yekhanurov, discussed on Wednesday the development of political and military cooperation between their countries.
Minister Yekhanurov started a two-day visit to Poland on Wednesday at the invitation of Minister Klich.
The ministers also summed up last week's NATO summit held in Bucharest, according to Polish news agency PAP.
Minister Yekhanurov thanked for Poland's support of Ukraine's aspirations. "I am grateful to our friends who fought for every word and every sentence to support Ukraine."
The Ukrainian minister stressed that his country's cooperation with NATO "is in no way directed against Russia." In his assessment the most important issue now is the support of Ukraine's society for government's goals.
"I think that some one third of Ukrainians is in favor of NATO, another one-third will not vote for NATO membership. Thus we have to work with those who are undecided," stressed Yekhanurov.
Minister Klich assured his guest that Poland is ready to support Ukraine with its knowledge and experience, among others, in the reform of the defense system and the armed forces.
