Polish, French FMs discuss Afghanistan, EU affairs |

Polish Foreign Minister Rodoslaw Sikorski and his French counterpart Bernard Kouchner met here on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty and the EU eastern policy.
Kouchner is here to attend ceremonies marking the 65th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
The two ministers also discussed the priorities of the French presidency over the EU as well as issues linked with bilateral cooperation, according to Polish news agency PAP.
Speaking at a joint press conference following the talks both ministers stressed friendly relations between the two countries.
Sikorski said the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan is a very important issue for NATO as well as for the European Union. He added that the two also discussed ways of coordination of Poland's and France's plans towards Afghanistan.
The two ministers also continued a discussion on the possible granting of Membership Action Plan (MAP) to Ukraine. "It seems that our stands have become closer," said Sikorski.
