Russia's Viktor Zubkov-led cabinet has tendered its resignation, as Russia's new president Dmitry Medvedev took office on Wednesday, Itar-Tass reported.

Zubkov signed the order in compliance with the Russian Constitution and relevant laws, said the Cabinet's press-service.

Medvedev was sworn in at the Kremlin earlier Wednesday and his predecessor Vladimir Putin is to be named as prime minister on Thursday.
