The Russian Foreign Ministry refused to comment Thursday on reports that two U.S. military attaches have been expelled from Russia.

"We refrain from any comments," the ministry's Information and Press Department was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying.

According to established practice, such things are not commented on, a source in the ministry said.

It was reported earlier in the day that Russia has ordered two U.S. military attaches to leave Moscow in retaliation for the U.S. expulsion of two Russian diplomats from Washington.
