The presidium of the Russian government will consist of 15 members, the press secretary of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

The presidium will include Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, First Deputy Prime Ministers Viktor Zubkov and Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Ministers Alexander Zhukov, Sergei Ivanov, Igor Sechin, Alexei Kudrin and Deputy Prime Minister and chief of governmental staff Sergei Sobyanin.

Other presidium members are Health and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova, Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev, Regional Development Minister Dmitry Kozak, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev and Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov."

"Three fifths of the total number of Cabinet ministers will serve as a quorum to adopt decisions," RIA Novosti quoted Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary, as saying.

Putin proposed to form the Cabinet's presidium Thursday. "The government presidium will meet on a weekly basis with the participation of issue-specific ministers," Putin said earlier in the day, adding that the "regular" Cabinet would meet at least once a month.
