Spain's truck drivers will stage a nationwide strike at the weekend to protest against high fuel costs, a drivers group said on Saturday.

Scores of protesters will drive their trucks with a slow speed from around the country, before meeting in the capital Madrid on Saturday evening, the Transport Defense Platform said.

The strike is one of actions in Spain protesting against soaring fuel prices.

Taxi drivers held a protest against high fuel prices in downtown Madrid on Thursday. Spanish fishermen went on a week-long strike Friday, along with their counterparts in Italy and Portugal.
