An 87-year-old gunman killed his two adult daughters and wounded critically his wife before killing himself in Ylitornio, northern Finland on Sunday, the Finnish broadcasting company YLE reported.

The suspect went to a local health center Sunday afternoon and shot at his bedridden wife there, and afterward he left the center, local police said.

Police was able to contact the man by phone and asked him to surrender when he returned home. Shortly thereafter a shot rang out from the suspect's home. Police found the man and his two daughters dead after they broke into the house.

Police said they had no further details, but were investigating the case.
