A two-day international conference on the fight against nuclear terror opened here Tuesday, the Spanish Foreign Ministry said.
The Forth Plenary Meeting of the Global Initiative to Combat the Nuclear Terrorism was aimed at discussing measures to cope with the threat of nuclear terror with cooperation of G8 members, the ministry said in a statement.
The initiative was proposed by U.S. President George W. Bush and former Russian President Vladimir Putin during a G8 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2006.
More than 200 representatives from 55 countries, the European Union and the International Atomic Energy Agency attended the meeting, said the statement. Source:Xinhua
