The Finnish general government expenditure grew by 4.2 percent in the first quarter of 2008, compared to the same period of last year, local media reported on Wednesday.
The expenditure items that grew most were social benefits in cash, gross capital formation, compensation of employees and intermediate consumption, the media quoted Statistics Finland as saying.
General government in Finland comprises central government, local government and social security funds.
