Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha named his new deputy on Tuesday, ending his months of flying solo.
Genc Pollo, the education minister, was promoted to become the tiny western Balkan country's new deputy prime minister, a source, who asked not to be named, told Xinhua.
The nomination should be approved by Albania's president and parliament before it comes into effect.
The post was left vacant in March after former Deputy Prime Minister Gazmend Oketa succeeded Fatmir Mediu who resigned as the country's defense minister over deadly arms depot explosions in March.
The explosions, which took place on March 15 at an ammunition disposal factory near the capital city of Tirana, killed 26 people and injured more than 300.
