A research of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life in Vienna showed on Tuesday that the consequences of the climate change in the Alpine region would be intensified.

According to the online report of Austrian newspaper "Die Presse" Tuesday, the research showed that the temperature in Tyrol, the western part of Austria, also part of the Alpine region, would rise up to 5 degree Celsius by the end of this century.

Five degree Celsius were exactly the temperature difference from the Ice Age till today, emphasized Global 2000, the organization for which the research was conducted,.

Karl Schellmann, the expert of climate and energy of the organization, showed deep concern on the possible healthy problems due to the rapidly rising temperature, saying that "neither we human beings nor the nature could adjust to this warming in such a short time."

High temperature would also lead to a lower river level, which would then influence the generation of electricity from hydropower. Droughts during the summer would also often affect the central and eastern Europe.

Global 2000 warned that "without adjustment measures, the collapse of the energy system would be inevitable."

Experts pointed out that, in order to slow down the worsen of the climate condition by the end of 2050, the greenhouse gas emission of the industrial nations should be reduced by 80 percent.

The climate could tolerate two tons of greenhouse gases per person per year, said the experts. However, the current average emission in Austria is 11 tons per person per year and in America about 25 tons.
