Bulgarian government survived Wednesday a non-confidence vote over its failure to adhere to the rules of the European Union for the EU Funds absorption, local press reported.
The motion, filed by the opposition in cooperation with independents, was rejected by a large margin -- 150 to 84 votes. Only one MP abstained from voting. And as expected the three parties from the ruling coalition voted unanimously "against."
The vote was officially filed the day when the European Commission published its latest monitoring report on Bulgaria a week ago.
The opposition cited as motives for the move the moral and material damages incurred by the country and its citizens because of violations in the absorption of the EU funds.
All opposition parties with several independents have a total of 82 MPs.
