Portugal on Thursday approved a resolution proposal for the creation of a common aviation space between the European Community and 11 other European nations, the Portuguese Council of Ministries said.
The resolution proposal, which had been sent to the Portuguese assembly and subsequently ratified by the country's president, approved the multilateral agreement signed two years ago in Luxembourg between European Community member countries and the governments of the other 11 nations.
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Iceland, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Romania, Serbia and the provisional administration of Kosovo are included in the multilateral agreement.
The European common aviation space seeks "market opening among the agreed parts, through the unlimited access of air carriers and air operation services."
It also foresees the "alignment of European community legislation in matters of aviation security and air traffic management." Source:Xinhua
