Sweden to ban all products containing cat, dog fur |

Sweden will ban all cat and dog fur or products containing such fur from Dec. 31, 2008, according to a decision made on Thursday by the Swedish government.
Those selling or distributing cat and dog fur or products containing such fur will be imposed penalties and the ban on the import and export of fur products will entail criminal liability under the Act on Penalties for Smuggling, the government said in a statement.
It is very positive to impose the ban, Minister for Agriculture Eskil Erlandsson said in the statement.
