A passenger plane with 87 people on board crashed in Russia's Ural region and all people aboard were killed, Russian news agencies reported Sunday, quoting emergency authorities.

The Boeing-737 jet, which belonged to Russia's leading Aeroflotairline, crashed near Russia's city of Perm in the central Ural mountains, the country's emergency ministry was quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency.

"The airplane was found within the city's limits in a deserted area" and all passengers were killed, the ministry's spokesperson said.

Rescuers were heading to the scene from air.
