The European Union (EU) will provide 54 million euros (79 million U.S. dollars) to Paraguaya in non-repayable aid for education programs, Paraguayan Education Minister Horacio Galeano Perrone said Tuesday.
According to news reports from Asuncion, Paraguayan capital, Galeano said the money will be used on programs of "agricultural education" to be carried out between 2009 and 2012.
"We will use it to strengthen the agricultural education," Galeano said after meeting with French ambassador Gilles Bienvenu. France currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.
