A new survey shows that most New Yorkers favor a third term for their Mayor Michael Bloomberg to run again.
A survey released Friday by Quinnipiac University, a private, nonsectarian, coeducational university located in Hamden, Connecticut, shows that 54 percent of the voters surveyed favored extending term limits to 12 years for Bloomberg.
It's a sharp increased from the 38 percent in July who favored extending term limits for Bloomberg.
The poll was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, among more than 1,300 registered voters.
New Yorkers had mixed opinions on Friday on whether the term limits law should be changed for the mayor.
Under the existing law, New York mayor can only stay in office for two terms or 8 years.
Bloomberg said the unprecedented challenges brought on by the city's financial crisis prompted him to try for the change.
