Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived here Sunday for talks with Spanish leaders on bilateral cooperation and the current global financial crisis.
In his meeting with Spain's Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the two leaders will discuss the world financial crisis, bilateral cooperation, the Doha Round of global trade talks as well as the possible negotiation between the European Union and the Common Market of the South.
On the current international financial crisis, the two leaders have earlier said that any unilateral action would not be enough to stop a crisis of such magnitude.
The Brazilian president will receive the Don Quijote Prize from King Juan Carlos of Spain on Monday, according to the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.
Lula will travel to New Delhi Tuesday to attend a forum of political consultants in which Brazil, India and South Africa will participate.
