International talks on the situation of Georgia ended here Friday without any concrete result, but officials pledged that the process will continue.
The process has started and all parties agreed to meet in Geneva again on Nov. 18, said Pierre Morel, the EU special representative for the crisis in Georgia, after the one-day closed-door meeting in the UN headquarters of Europe.
"All representatives did take the floor, and all acted and spoke in a responsible way," said Johan Verbeke, special envoy for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
"We just want to ensure that the process is on track, and it is on track," Verbeke told reporters.
The officials refused to go to details about the format of the closed-door meeting, but they admit that there had been some " procedural difficulties."
Diplomatic sources said that the Russian delegation and the Georgian delegation did not meet face-to-face in the talks. They just held separate talks with the UN and EU representatives.
