Serbian and Romanian air forces on Tuesday staged a joint tactical exercise aimed at dealing with airplane hijacking.
The drill, dubbed "Interceptor 2008," was carried out simultaneously in the airspace along the boundary of the two countries, the Serbian official news agency Tanjug reported.
The objectives of the exercise were combined training of tactical units of the two countries in the protection of airspace, as well as the coordination of activities and standard operational procedure training.
After the drill, the Serbian Army's Chief of General Staff Gen. Zdravko Ponos said the exercise needs a high level of mutual trust and air forces of the two countries had carried out the joint tactical exercise very successfully.
"I hope that we will continue to carry out similar exercises with our neighbors in the future," Ponos told reporters. Source:Xinhua
