Seven people were injured when a service train collided with a commuter train early Friday in suburban Brussels, according to media reports.
The accident occurred at about 5:50 a.m. in Diegem when one of the trains mistakenly switched onto the track of the other, Belgian broadcaster VRT reported.
Although neither train derailed, three commuters and four service train workers were injured, Jean-Pierre De Groef, the mayor of Diegem, was quoted as saying.
The accident caused long train traffic delays during the morning rush hour. Train service to the Brussels International Airport was also affected.
