Three Germans suspected of attacking the European Union's headquarters in the Kosovo capital Pristina have been ordered to be detained for 30 days pending an investigation, Kosovo media reported.
The defense lawyers said the prosecution is seeking to charge their clients with "acts of terrorism" which carry a maximum 20-year imprisonment.
The three were arrested for involvement in a bomb attack on the International Civilian Office (ICO) in Pristina on Nov. 14. An explosive devise was thrown at the building, but no one was hurt in the attack.
The local Albanian-language daily Express claimed the three suspects work for the German intelligence service BND while officials in Berlin declined to make comments.
The attack came when the deployment of the EU police and justice mission in Kosovo, known as EULEX, ran into new obstacles. Earlier this month, the Kosovo authority rejected an agreement between the United Nations and Serbia on the deployment of EULEX. Source: Xinhua
