A 6.6-magnitude earthquake occurred Monday under the sea near Russia's Far East, local media said. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The epicenter of the quake, which hit at 12:05 Moscow time (0905 GMT), was 33 km beneath the sea bed and 360 km west of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Interfax cited the Emergencies Ministryas reporting.

The U.S. Geological Survey measured the quake at 7.0-magnitude and located the epicenter at 314 km west of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.
