The premiers of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro agreed on Monday to improve cooperation and relations between the two neighboring ex-Yugoslav countries, said reports reaching here from the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
Following a meeting with Montenegro's counterpart Milo Djukanovic, Bosnia-Herzegovina's Premier Nikola Spiric said that there are no open issues between the two countries, but improvement of cooperation is needed in all areas and especially in the field of economy, the Bosnian news agency FENA reported.
Djukanovic said that Montenegro felt many benefits in terms of strong economic development and approaching to Euro-Atlantic integrations since it declared independence in June 2006.
His official visit to Sarajevo is the first one since Montenegro gained independence two and a half years ago after a referendum to break up a union with Serbia.
During the meeting on Monday, ministers from the two countries signed four bilateral agreements on cultural, educational, scientific and technological cooperation as well as on readmission of illegal immigrants.
Officials said that both countries are already preparing projects that would improve roads to the border crossings between the two countries at Scepan Polje. Both countries are also ready to consider creating a railway connection between Niksic in Montenegro and Capljina in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
