Poland alone will not be a safe country, and each day Poland is acting in favor of a common European policy towards Russia, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday.
Tusk said in Cracow that Poland should become a country which efficiently builds good relations with its neighbors and has effective influence in Europe so that relations with Russia could be the best possible.
"Not at all cost. If one has to stand firm, than it has to be done, but the general idea is to have good relations between Europe and Russia and especially between Poland and Russia," Polish news agency PAP quoted Tusk as saying.
"Poland should become a state which efficiently builds good relations with its neighbors. For me this is absolutely the key to foreign policy," added the prime minister.
According to Tusk the government's task is to secure Poland strategic security and this cannot be achieved without the support of other countries.
