The French police and the Spanish security forces have detained three members of the separatist Basque organization ETA, including an alleged chief in France's Gerde city, Spanish Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba said Monday.
Perez Rubalcaba said at a press conference that one of the detainees could be Aitsol Iriondo Yarza alias "Gurbita," adding "Gurbita" was supposed to be the military chief of the ETA.
"Gurbita," who escaped to France in October 2002, was one of the most wanted ETA members.
Another detainee was Eneko Zarrabeitia and a third one could be Asier Borrero, Perez Rubalcaba said.
