Lithuania's new cabinet led by Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius was sworn in Tuesday after the country's parliament approved the government and its program.
The new government and its program, including the crisis management plan, were approved by 83 members of the 141-seat parliament.
The economic package, aimed at tackling the ongoing financial crisis, includes raising value-added tax (VAT) and corporate profit tax as well as cutting government spending.
Kubilius led his conservative Homeland Union-Christian Democrats party to victory in October's parliamentary election.
The party formed a four-party center-left coalition in November with the National Resurrection Party, the Liberal Movement and the Liberal and Center Union.
