Romania's new Premier-designate Emil Boc said Monday he will set up an expert group to handle the current economic crisis.
The consulting group will include experts on economy and social issues, Boc said after accepting his nomination as prime minister Monday.
He said he will ask the central bank to help the governing coalition of the Democrat Liberal Party and the Social Democratic Party find the best solutions to the ongoing crisis.
Theodor Stolojan, the previous designated prime minister, "will remain in our team if he wishes," Boc said.
Romanian President Traian Basescu on Monday named Boc, president of the Democrat Liberal Party, as prime minister.
Basescu made the new nomination soon after Stolojan dropped his bid for the post earlier in the day.
Stolojan, 65, served as Romania's prime minister from October 1991 to November 1992 and finance minister from May 1990 to April 1991.
