The foreign ministers of Sweden, the Czech Republic and France will go to the Middle East on Sunday to promote a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, officials said Friday.
The three ministers -- Carl Bildt of Sweden, Karl Schwarzenberg of the Czech Republic, and Bernard Kouchner of France -- plan to travel to Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday and then will continue on to Jerusalem for discussions on Monday, the Swedish foreign ministry said in a statement.
"There are also plans to meet (Palestinian) President (Mahmoud) Abbas in Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday," the ministry added.
The Israeli strike on the Gaza Strip entered a seventh day Friday and has left about 400 dead and 2,000 wounded in Gaza. Source: Xinhua
