Ukraine denied it signed on Sunday a protocol on the deployment of monitors led by the European Union (EU) to ensure Russian gas transit with additional provisions.
Konstantin Yeliseyev, a Deputy Foreign Minister, said on Monday Ukraine signed the document with Mirek Topolanek, the prime minister of the Czech Republic, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, without any amendments or conditions.
"I would like to especially emphasize (that) there were no changes or additions to the text of the document.
"Ukraine, like any sovereign state, has the right to express its own position on any issue and no one has the right to obstruct it," Yeliseyev said.
He said Ukraine has fulfilled all the conditions for resuming Russian gas supplies to EU countries.
