One retrieved body of the crashed Air France jetliner victims has been identified as British, the Interpol said in a statement Tuesday.

The body is among the 11 ones recovered from the crash, which is believed killed 228 people aboard Air France Flight 447, an Airbus A330-200, in the early hours of June 1. The other 10 bodies had been identified as Brazilian, including five men and five women, Brazilian authorities said Sunday.

All the 11 bodies have been passed to their relatives, the Interpol based on Lyons said. So far 50 bodies have been recovered and rescuers are still looking for other victims.

The statement said two of the ten identified Brazilian victims have dual nationalities, one is a German and Brazilian, the other is a Swiss and Brazilian.

During the process, a team of specialists collected evidence such as fingerprints, teeth and tattoo from the retrieved bodies, and compared them with antemortem files supplied by passenger relatives, the Interpol said.

French Defense Minister Herve Morin said Tuesday the flight recorder of Air France Flight 447 has not been found yet, but the French team is trying to identify signals coming from the crash zone.
