The first Las Vegas-style gambling center in Europe will be built in northwest Hungary, Hard Rock chairman Jim Allen said in Budapest on Friday.
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hungary will be built near the Austrian and Slovak border at a cost of 5 billion euros over 10 years, Allen told a press conference.
The hotel and casino complex will be built in the town of Bezenye, 160 kilometers from Budapest, capital of Hungary, and 80 kilometers from Vienna, capital of Austria. The resort is expected to open in 2012.
Hard Rock chairman expected the gambling center to yield revenues totalling 2 billion euros in 10 years.
The investment project will be carried out by Hard Rock International in conjunction with the Ausrian Asamer Group and Supersberger Group.
