The visiting Slovak president Ivan Gasparovic on Thursday said that his country would not recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, and would continue its support for Serbia's EU integration.
Gasparovic said that his country would remain true to its decision not to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo whatever the outcome of the hearing before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning the issue, according to Serbian state news agency TANJUG.
After his meeting with Serbian President Boris Tadic, Gasparovic said that Slovakia would also continue its sincere support for Serbia's EU integration, adding that it would share its own experience that could help Serbia on the road to full EU membership.
During the two-day official visit to Serbia, Gasparovic is to take part in the Serbia-Slovakia business forum together with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic. The visit will end on Friday.
