Ukrainian new ruling coalition nominated Mykola Azarov as a candidate for prime minister, Hanna Herman, a deputy presidential chief of staff, told local media on Thursday.

The nomination was made after parliament speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn announced that a majority coalition has been formed at the Ukrainian parliament on Thursday morning.

"If the president supports Azarov, he will come to the parliament at 11:00 a.m. local time to present the candidate," Herman told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
