Clinton to travel to Moscow for Mideast peace, nuclear arms control

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will travel to Moscow on Thursday for the Quartet meeting on the Middle East peace process and the nuclear arms control between the United States and Russia, said State Department on Monday.
Secretary Clinton, accompanied by U.S. Special Envoy to Middle East George Mitchell, will participate in the Quartet meeting from Thursday to Friday, said State Department spokesman Philip Crowley.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, EU High Representative Catherine Ashton and Quartet Representative Tony Blair will join Clinton to discuss efforts to promote Middle East peace.
Clinton will also meet with senior Russian officials to discuss progress on a successor agreement to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, cooperation on nonproliferation, counterterrorism, regional security issues, and the work of the Bilateral Presidential Commission, said Crowley.
