Italian president arrives in Syria on three-day visit

Italian President Giorgio Napolitano started Wednesday a three-day state visit to Syria, the official ANA news agency reported.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is to hold talks on Thursday with his visiting Italian counterpart about bilateral relations, issues of common interest, as well as to the latest developments in the Middle East, according to the report.
President Napolitano, accompanied by a high-level official delegation, is also to meet Syria's Parliament Speaker Mahmoud la- Abrash and Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Otri.
