Greece and United Arab Emirates aimed at broadening and strengthening bilateral cooperation in sectors ranging from ports, infrastructure and renewable energy sources to tourism and culture during a one- day business forum hosted on Thursday in Athens.
Though no concrete results were announced, the Greek government explored with the 15-member delegation of Abu Dhabi officials, " opportunities to advance a strategic partnership between the two sides," as Greek Minister of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping Louka Katseli said during her opening address to the forum.
"We are here because we share common priorities in the economic development of our countries," added Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, head of the Abu Dhabi delegation, assistant Foreign Minister and special envoy on energy and climate change.
On Thursday, Greece finalized an earlier deal with Abu Dhabi on the sale of the majority stake of the Greek shipyards of Skaramangas to a consortium controlled by the Arab Emirate.
