Russia ratifies agreement on military supplies with Belarus

Russia's parliament, the State Duma, has ratified the Russian-Belarusian agreement on the advancement of military technical cooperation, Interfax news agency reported on Wednesday.
According to the agreement, mutual supplies of military-purpose equipment will be exempt from customs duties and taxes.
The two sides will make deliveries without issuing licenses for exporting or importing on a contract basis and taking into account secrecy regulations according to agreed lists and volumes.
The two countries pledged not to sell or transfer any military- purpose goods as well as sensitive information to any third party, including international organizations, foreign legal entities and individuals, the agreement said.
The agreement was signed in Moscow on Dec. 10, 2009. Belarus has ratified it in this July.
Moscow and Minsk agreed to create joint air defense system in Feb. 2010.
