Two coalition soldiers were killed and 38 others were wounded in an attack against a U.S. base near Baghdad airport, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

In a statement, the military said that two third-country nationals were also injured by the attack, which took place on Wednesday on the Camp Victory that occupies the area surrounding the Baghdad International Airport and the Saddam's former presidential palace of Faw, which serves as the headquarters for the Multinational Corps-Iraq.

The statement did not provide further details about the incident, but said it is under investigation.
