A U.S. female soldier was killed by a roadside bomb explosion in Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Saturday.
The victim, assigned to Multi-National Division - Center, was killed on Thursday when the roadside bomb struck her patrol in an area south of Baghdad, a military statement said.
Three airmen were also killed on Thursday while performing combat operations near Balad airbase, 80 km north of Baghdad, the military said in an earlier statement.
The names of the deceased soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statements said.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq close to 3,850 since the breakout of the U.S.-led war on Iraq in 2003, according to media account based on Pentagon figures.
