Five U.S. soldiers have been killed in two roadside bomb attacks in Iraq, a U.S. military spokesman said on Tuesday.
"We have lost five soldiers yesterday in two unfortunate incidents, both attacks involving IEDs (improvised explosive device)," Rear Adm Gregory Smith, director of the Multi-National Force-Iraq's communications division, told reporters in Baghdad.
The spokesman did not provide further details about the incidents.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to more than 3,850 since the outbreak of the Iraqi war in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures. Source: Xinhua
