Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat revealed on Wednesday that there is a progress in the recent Israeli position concerning the six major final status issues.

"In the past months, the Israeli side was not showing any readiness even to speak about the final status issues, but now Israel has changed its position and accepted to negotiate them," Erekat told "Voice of Palestine" Radio.

He added that "the Israeli position has become more positive, when Israel accepted to launch the talks on these issues at the summit scheduled to be held in Annapolis by the end of November."

The issues of Jerusalem, refugees, Jewish settlements, the boarders of the Palestinian state, security and water, are the issues that both Israel and the Palestinians agreed to negotiate right after Annapolis summit.

However, Erekat said that so far, the United States hasn't yet sent the invitations to the participating parties in the summit of Annapolis, adding that "we don't know yet which countries will be invited and no specific dates has been setup."

"The whole world conceived that the achieving peace, security and settlement in the region of the Middle East can only go through one way, by ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories which began in 1967," said Erekat.

He warned that the Israeli practices of settlements, walls, assassinations and arrests "would only lead to enlarging the cycle of violence and chaos," adding "such practices has nothing to do with achieving peace."

Erekat also said that "the only country able to exert pressure on Israel is the United State of America," adding "Therefore, the United State can commit Israel to stop the current settlements activities."
