Two mortar shells landed on open spaces near a crossing point into Israel early Wednesday, media reports said.
The shells, fell not far from Erez crossing, the only gate for travelers to Israel, caused no casualties or damage, Israeli sources were quoted as saying.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, claimed responsibility for the attack and said its fighters have fired two home-made rockets into southern Israel city of Sderot.
Meanwhile, militants from the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement have detonated a roadside bomb at an Israeli army jeep patrolling on the borders in northern Gaza Strip. Source: Xinhua
