Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip said on Tuesday that they fired six home-made rockets into southern Israel earlier in the day.

Saraya al-Quds, military wing of the radical Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement, claimed responsibility for launching four rockets into Israel' Sderot city, about one km away from northern Gaza Strip.

The group said that the shelling was part of reactions to a recent Israeli air strikes on its commanders in the coastal Strip which killed at least 10 of its member last week.

The firing was "in response to frequent Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people," Saraya al-Quds said in a statement.

Meanwhile, an armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) claimed the other two makeshift rockets which landed on open areas in Israel with no damages or casualties caused.
