Over 30 people were wounded in an explosion in southeastern Turkey on Thursday, Turkish private NTV reported.

Local sources told Xinhua that the explosion was a result of a bomb attack targeting a military personnel bus in southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

The attack took place when the vehicle was passing near Dedeman Hotel in Diyarbakir's Yenisehir district, the source added.

Turkey's official Anatolia news agency reported that several other vehicles burst into flames because of the explosion which also shattered glasses nearby shops and houses.

Turkish police cordoned off the area against possibility of a second bomb, according to Anatolia.
