Visiting U.S. President George W. Bush said on Thursday that the Islamic Hamas in the Gaza has delivered nothing but misery.

Bush made the remarks at a joint press conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

But he said that he doesn't know whether the West Bank government installed by President Abbas can resolve the situation within the year.

In regard to Hamas, President Abbas reiterated that Hamas' violent takeover of Gaza was a "coup," which must be ended. He underlined that there will not any dialogue with Hamas before Hamas cedes Gaza and ended the "coup."

Hamas routed the security forces loyal to President Abbas in mid June 2007 and has been ruling the enclave since then.
