Israeli FM calls for division of Palestine political forces |

Visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said here Thursday that it was necessary to divide political forces in the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) into two types -- moderate and extremist.
"It is necessary for the peace process to be based on the understanding of the importance of the division of political forces into moderate and extremist in the Palestinian autonomy," the Itar-Tass news agency quoted Livni as saying.
"It is important that such a division be supported by the whole international community," said Livni, who arrived here Wednesday to meet with her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
The foreign minister added that it is necessary to hold talks with moderate Palestinians.
"It is necessary to support the moderate forces in the Palestinian territory and only in this case we will be able to prevent the creation of an extremist state in the region," she said.
