A civilian was killed and two policemen were injured in a bomb attack in Baghdad on Sunday morning, an Interior Ministry source said.

"A roadside bomb struck a police patrol near the Passport Office in Baghdad's eastern neighborhood of Zaiyounah, killing a bystander and wounding two policeman," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The blast damaged a police vehicle and several nearby buildings and cars, the source said.

Also in the capital, the source said that police patrols collected two unidentified bodies dumped in two different areas in Baghdad during the past 24 hours.

Violence and daily gruesome finding of unidentified bodies continue in Baghdad despite the announcement of the U.S. and Iraqi officials about a steep drop of violence as a result of a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife.
